I will overwhelm 'legitimate boxer' Paul - Joshua
The British boxer prepares to battle the American YouTuber in an eight round contest which will be shown live on Netflix.
British boxer Joshua declared he will "dominate completely" Jake Paul and "defeat" the American as the pair confronted each other to promote next month's heavyweight fight.
Former two-time world heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua meets social media star turned fighter Jake Paul - in what is, theoretically, a massive mismatch - at Miami arena on 19 December.
Fighter's Attitude
"I plan to break his face and hurt his body. I aim to demonstrate I'm superior," the British boxer, 35, stated.
"I plan to overwhelm him. That's a fighter's mentality.
"I will genuinely try to cause him pain. That's my intention."
Respectful Interaction
Despite such comments, a relaxed Anthony Joshua and internet personality Jake Paul - normally recognized for his showmanship - shared friendly words and kept it respectful with each other.
Jake Paul rather targeted ex Joshua opponent the Cameroonian fighter and labeled him "not serious" after Ngannou declined a fight offer.
Taking Aim at Fury
Anthony Joshua, at the same time, criticized British rival Tyson Fury - and declined a million-pound wager 'The Gypsy King' says he will place on a Paul victory.
"Jake Paul is superior to Fury - he's actually sitting here," Joshua stated.
"I give him credit for that."
Serious Fighter
Despite declaring he will hurt Jake Paul, Anthony Joshua refused to speak negatively about his rival's fighting skills.
"Jake Paul is a legitimate boxer," he remarked.
Paul's History
Paul - who initially became famous on the television network - has mostly boxed MMA fighters or faded names since turning professional.
He lost to Briton Tommy Fury in 2023.
Financial Attraction
Still, the novice is still one of the sport's largest financial successes, frequently receiving huge paydays.
Prediction and Belief
The 28 year old forecast a stoppage in round four or five and claimed he would prevent the much-anticipated Fury-Joshua bout, which is reportedly under discussion for two years from now.
"The next fight will be myself against Tyson Fury in the coming year," Paul declared.
Physical Difference
As both boxers met for the traditional confrontation, with their size difference clearly visible, it highlighted just how unlikely this complete situation is - and how amazing it is that the match is really proceeding.
